Idiyappam/String Hoppers


INGREDIENTS:

Rice flour -1 Cup
Salt - as required
Oil -1/2 tsp
Hot Water - as required

METHOD:
  1. In a bowl,add rice flour,salt,oil.





2.Boil water separately.Add boiled water little by little .


3.Since it would be hot to mix,mix with a spoon or fork.

4.When it cools a little bit,knead well with hands.

5.Boil water in a Pressure cooker and keep the vessel ready for placing idiyappam plates.

6.Take Idiyappam maker and smear with oil. Take a small ball of the dough and place it in idiyappam maker.






6.Press  Idiyappam maker over Idiyappam plates.Move from center to the edges in a circular way.



7.Keep the idly plates in pressure cooker and cook them for 8 minutes.



8.Idiyappam should be cooked and shouldn't stick when touched .


9.Serve it with veg kurma,Egg kurma, Chicken Kurma etc

SCRIBBLED NOTES:
Buy a good quality rice flour or make homemade rice flour.
Don't overcook Idiyappam .
You can also use Murukku maker to make idiyappams
