Simple Beetroot Rice



Serves :4

INGREDIENTS:
Beetroot small,chopped -2
Sesame Oil -2 Tbsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp(optional)
Urad dal - 2 Tbsp
Channa dal -2 Tbsp
Jeera -1 tsp
Curry leaves -1 Sprig
Red Chilly -2
Onion,chopped -1
Sambar powder -1 and 1/2 Tbsp
Red chilly powder-1/4 tsp(optional)
Coriander powder -1/2 tsp
Salt 
Water -as needed
Cooked Rice -3 Cups

                                METHOD:

            1.Heat Oil in a pan and add mustad,urad dal,jeera,channa dal,red chilly and curry leaves.



                                         

2.Add Chopped onion and saute well.

                               


                          

3.Add Chopped Beetroot and mix.Sprinkle little water and pressure cook for 3 whistles in medium flame.


                      


4.When pressure is released,open pressure cooker and add sambar powder,red chilli powder and coriander powder along with salt.Let the masalas cook well for 2 to 3 minutes.

                   

5.Add Cooked Rice


                 

6.Mix well and serve
                  

I  had with mixed vegetable pickle :)
